Lip filler treatment involves the injection of small amounts of hyaluronic acid gel into the lips in order to temporarily add volume, definition or create a balance between the upper and lower lips. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that retains moisture to boost hydration and elasticity.
After the first treatment an additional treatment of filler may be needed to achieve the desired level of correction. The need for additional treatments varies from patient to patient.
Over time, the filler will gradually break down and be absorbed by your body. As a result, injections will need to be repeated to maintain the desired effect. Lip fillers typically last between 6 and 8 months depending on the product used and the speed at which your body breaks down the filler.
Please note that the outcome for this treatment is not guaranteed. The outcome may vary between patients, and you may require more than a single treatment to achieve your desired outcome.
FAQs
- How many mls will I need? - An assessment will be carried out at your initial consultation. We tend to focus more on the desired outcome than the amount of filler needed and this is why our dermal fillers have a fixed price.
- Will fillers hurt? - A numbing cream will be used prior to the treatment. The filler also contains local anaesthetics which will help with any pain. Fillers tend to be more uncomfortable than painful but we will work together to give you the best experience during your treatment.
- Do I need to do anything specific prior to treatment? - Please avoid drinking any alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to the appointment as this will help reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising.
- Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding? - No, this treatment is not recommended whilst you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Can I have this treatment if I have had a covid vaccine? - It is recommended that you do not have any treatments for 2 weeks before and 3 weeks having a covid vaccine.
